Ingress protection (IP rating)
Outdoor charging piles typically require IP54 to IP65. That means sealed seams, gasketed doors, weatherproof cable glands and drainage that keeps water away from electronics. The higher the rating, the more critical the welding and sealing quality becomes.
Thermal management
Power conversion generates real heat. Enclosures are designed with forced-air cooling paths, filtered vents and heat-sink mounting points. For high-power DC chargers, reinforced frames and proper airflow routing prevent hot spots that shorten component life.
