An amplifier housing gets blamed for three faults it did not cause, and each one has a different cure. Mechanical hum is a stiffness problem, not an electrical one. Overheating is an airflow path problem, not a hole-count problem. And a front panel that looks right in the render but sits 1 mm off the connector bezel is a drawing problem that only shows up on the assembly line.

We build these in steel rather than aluminium for a reason that has nothing to do with looks. A mains transformer sitting two centimetres from a flat panel will find that panel and drive it, and steel is both the stiffer material per unit of cost and the better magnetic shield around the transformer itself. Where the shell is expected to carry heat away as well, or where the unit is carried to gigs every week, we quote aluminium instead and say why.

The vent layout is decided from your dissipation, not copied from a previous model. Cool air enters low at the sides, picks up heat across the output stages and leaves through the top, so convection and the vents push the same way. Top louvres are formed with a downward-facing lip, which sheds dust falling from above instead of collecting it, and their open area is sized against the heat figure you give us rather than filled in until it looks generous.

Vents Placed for Convection, Not Symmetry
开孔顺对流，而非求对称
Cool air enters low, warms across the output stages and leaves through the top, so we put the intake band near the base and the exhaust louvres across the lid. A pattern that looks balanced but puts both at the same height short-circuits the flow and leaves a hot pocket under the lid.
冷空气低位进入，流经功率输出级升温后从顶部离开——因此我们让进风冲孔带靠近底部，出风百叶横跨顶盖。看着均衡但两者等高的孔型会形成气流短路，在顶盖下方留下热区。
A Case That Does Not Ring
不共振的箱体
Large flat panels over a mains transformer hum. We shorten every span with folded returns and stiffening ribs so the natural frequency of the panel sits above what the transformer can excite, and isolate the transformer on a reinforced mounting area instead of the open lid.

Grounding That Survives Finishing

Powder coat is an insulator, which is what you want everywhere except at a bonding point. We define those points at drawing stage and keep them masked or machined, so a star ground stays continuous to the chassis after the part comes off the line.

Apertures Cut to Real Connectors

Input and output holes follow your connector part numbers, not a template, and they are checked on the first article with those connectors actually fitted. A 0.5 mm mismatch shows up as a panel that will not sit flat, and it is far cheaper to find on our bench than on yours.

A flat panel over a mains transformer is a sounding board. We break the panel into shorter spans with folded returns and stiffening ribs, isolate the transformer on a stiffened mounting area, and fit rubber feet so the case is not coupled into the shelf.变压器上方的平板就是一块共鸣板。我们用内折边与加强筋把面板切分成更短的跨度，把变压器固定在加强过的安装区，并配橡胶脚垫使箱体不与置架形成耦合。
Where should the vents go on an amplifier enclosure?功放外壳的散热孔应该开在哪里？
Low at the sides for intake and high across the top for exhaust, so convection works with the air instead of against it. Steel or aluminium for an amplifier enclosure?功放外壳用钢还是铝？
Steel for most builds, because it is stiff per unit cost, it is the better magnetic shield around a mains transformer and it takes a powder coat well.
